Crispy Rice Paper Dumplings

These TikTok-Inspired Crispy Rice Paper Dumplings are crispy outside and a little chewy inside. Rice paper wraps, veggies, tofu, soy sauce, sriracha, garlic, ginger, salt and oil and that’s all you need to make these insanely addictive rice paper wrapped dumplings!

These pan-fried crispy rice paper dumplings are a perfect mix between rice paper rolls and crispy dumplings, filled with a simple yet delicious vegetable and tofu filling with a crisp outer shell and slightly chewy, flavorsome filling. Plus dairy-free, and vegan dumplings !

 

IMPORTANT TIPS

  • Pat dry tofu before adding to the stuffing.

  • I have used carrots, mushrooms and scallions but you can add your choice of veggies.

  • Add salt as per taste as this recipe has soy sauce.

INGREDIENTS


Rice Paper Dumplings

  • 10 rice paper sheets

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 4-5 mushrooms

  • 200 grams of firm tofu

  • 1 carrots

  • 1 jalapeno

  • 3 scallions

  • 2 cloves of garlic

  • Small piece of ginger (minced)

  • Salt as per taste

  • 1/2 tsp crushed black pepper

  • 1 tbsp lite soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sriracha

  • oil for frying

Dipping Sauce

  • 2 tbsp lite soy sauce

  • 2 tsp rice vinegar

  • 2 tsp maple syrup

  • 1 tsp gochujang paste

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Chop all vegetables- mushrooms, carrots, scallion and jalapeno and set it aside.

  • In a pan, heat sesame oil. Add jalapenos, crushed garlic and ginger. Then add mushrooms, carrots and crumbled tofu. Sauté until most of the water has evaporated.

  • Add salt, pepper, soy sauce and sriracha. Sauté for 1 to 2 minutes. Finally add chopped scallions and set aside.

  • Take 1 rice paper and dip it into water. Place about 2 tbsp of filling in the middle and close the sides. Place the dumpling into another rice paper (dip rice paper in water) and repeat. Make the rest of the dumplings in a similar way.

  • In a pan take some oil and pan fry on both sides until crispy. You can sprinkle some sesame seeds on 1 or both sides.

  • For sauce add soy sauce, sriracha, maple syrup, rice vinegar, gochujang sauce, sesame oil and sesame seeds.

  • Serve and enjoy!!!
