Tofu Goujon Salad Bowl

I absolutely love tofu goujons and love to munch them on their own. But when I discovered this recipe for tofu goujons salad bowl, I knew it was going to be great! This dish is creative and delicious as well as super simple.

The crispy tofu would just melt in the mouth, when smothered with the spicy peanut butter dressing.

This Tofu Goujons Salad Bowl is a must try recipe and is served with a spicy peanut butter dressing. It's simple, easy to make and delicious too!

 

IMPORTANT TIPS

  • Use extra firm tofu for this recipe.

  • Add any vegetables of your choice.

  • Add sriracha sauce as per your spice level.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup red cabbage (chopped)

  • 1 small cucumber (finely chopped)

  • 1/4 cup carrot (shredded)

  • 3 scallion (chopped)

  • 1/4 cup edamame

  • 1 small avocado

  • 2 tbsp pecans (chopped)

Tofu Goujons

  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 3 tbsp all purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • Water as needed

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for cooking tofu)

Spicy peanut butter dressing

  • 3 tbsp peanut butter

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp sriracha

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Press the tofu: Put your tofu onto the press. If you do not have a tofu press, just place the tofu on a plate, with another plate on top of it and then stack something heavy on top, like a heavy pot. Leave it for 30 minutes while you prepare salad bowl and dressing.

  • Chop all vegetables and shred carrots.

  • Add all vegetables to a bowl.

  • Spicy Peanut Butter Dressing: In a bowl add peanut butter, soy sauce, olive oil, sriracha, maple syrup and lemon juice. Whisk everything until well combined.

  • Tofu Goujons: In a bowl take breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. Mix and set aside.

  • In a separate bowl take all purpose flour, salt and garlic. Add water as needed and mix until smooth.

  • Slice tofu into pieces. Take a slice of tofu and dip into flour batter and then coat into breadcrumb mix. Repeat this for all slices of tofu.

  • In a pan add oil. Once heated add coated tofu and cook it on both sides (each side about 3 minutes) until crispy and golden brown.

  • Add tofu goujons to the salad bowl. Drizzle peanut butter dressing and sprinkle some chopped pecans.

  • Enjoy !!!
