This is such a flavorful and simple middle eastern spice blend that can be used in versatile ways.

Za'atar Spice is a blend of herbs such as thyme and earthy and tangy spices like cumin, sumac and aleppo peppers
All you need is
Thyme
Sumac(it is bright, pinkish red and has a tangy and lemony flavor)
Sesame seeds (make sure you roast them before adding)
Cumin powder
Aleppo chili flakes (this adds bit of spicy kick)
I got introduce to this spice when I first tried Za'atar hummus at a restaurant and it was oh so good!!!
After that I use to get za'atar spice blend from the store until recently I learned how to make it on my own and it is super easy. and also I am someone who likes to make spice mix at home if possible so that way if I want to add anything less or more into the blend I can do that

Za'atar Spice Mix
Ingredients
2 tablespoon dried thyme
2 teaspoon ground cumin
2 tablespoon roasted sesame seed
2 tablespoon sumac
Salt as per taste
1 teaspoon aleppo chili flakes
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and stir until combined
Use immediately, or stored in a sealed container for upto 2 months
